Videplast, a Think Plastic Brazil associate — a portfolio of solutions supporting the internationalization of Brazil’s converted plastics sector in target markets, created through a partnership between ApexBrasil (the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and the INP (Brazilian Plastic Institute) — has received the IFS PACsecure certification, one of the most important international certifications for packaging material safety and quality.
Recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), which benchmarks globally accepted certifications, the standard assesses safety, quality, traceability, and legal compliance. Criteria also include management’s responsibility, risk-based product safety and quality management, process control, internal audits, fraud and adulteration prevention, rigorous selection of raw materials and suppliers, as well as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene.
“Videplast’s achievement brings more confidence to the company, both nationally and internationally. It is a milestone. And for us, it is extremely gratifying to contribute to an internationalization effort that is committed, safe, certified, and recognized, a benchmark in technology and innovation,” celebrates Carlos Moreira, Brazilian Plastic Institute Executive Director and Think Plastic Brazil CPO.
This certification validates the work of Videplast, which throughout its history has already sought to align its processes, structure, and organizational culture. The company promoted strategic meetings and training sessions to enhance its operation. The achievement is the result of an effort involving the entire Videplast team in the pursuit of excellence and the appreciation of a product safety culture, supported by GMP, hazard analysis, and the active participation of the board, management, technical areas, and operational teams.
During the preparation period, the company achieved internal improvements through process standardization, strengthening of the quality and safety management system, continuous team training, implementation of internal audits, rigorous supplier management, and environmental controls to prevent cross-contamination, ensuring the physical and microbiological integrity of the packaging.
“Quality is not the responsibility of a single department, but the result of collective commitment, every day. Every action and decision directly impacts the safety and trust we deliver to our clients. Maintaining this standard is a continuous mission,” emphasizes the company’s management.
Meeting the highest quality standards, the IFS PACsecure certification guarantees that Videplast exercises rigorous control over its raw materials and suppliers and is committed to effective traceability and legal and contractual compliance, manufacturing safe, intact, and reliable food-contact packaging, eliminating risks that could compromise the final product and protecting its partners and clients.
