The initiative will gather 34 Brazilian companies for a strategic agenda of business roundtables and matchmaking with major buyers from the region. Supported by local consultancies, participants will have personalized meetings with key players in the Chilean market.

Think Plastic Brazil is a portfolio of solutions for the converted plastics products sector in the internationalization process for target markets, carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and the INP (Brazilian Plastic Institute).

“Chile has consolidated itself as one of the most dynamic partners open to innovation in Latin America. The geographical proximity and overland logistical facilities make the Brazilian product highly competitive in the Chilean market. This mission is essential for us to strengthen ties, present the high sustainable technology of Brazilian converted plastics, and generate new long-term contracts,” states Carlos Moreira, Brazilian Plastic Institute Executive Director & Think Plastic Brazil CPO.

The partner companies participating in the mission are: A&S, Alumínios Oliveira, Arthi, Atlas S/A, Bandeirantes, Bettanin, Brustec, Dello, Domus, Enerbras, Force, Forte, Frontec, Jaguar Plásticos, Krona, Lolly, Margirius, Maxcril, Maxeb, Mor, Mueller, Nitron, OU, Pisani, Plasvale, Poliondas, São Bernardo, Schwanke, Sforplast, Soprano, Stolf, Termolar, Usual UD, and Velper.

CHILEAN CONVERTED PLASTICS MARKET

Chile remains one of the most relevant and consolidated markets for Brazilian converted plastics. In 2025, the Chilean economy grew by 2.5% in Gross Domestic Product (GDP), driven mainly by strong domestic demand and consumption. For 2026, perspectives remain positive, sustained by trade dynamics and the country’s importing profile, recognized for its constant search for innovation and technology. In the converted plastics segment, export figures highlight the strategic importance of the Chilean market. In 2024, Brazilian exports to the country totaled US$ 138 million, with 30.17 million kilograms shipped. In 2025, the exported volume reached just over US$ 112 million, keeping Chile as the second main destination for the sector’s exports, behind only Argentina. “Despite the 16.3% reduction, Chile remained the second main destination for exports from segments such as packaging, films, and housewares,” highlights Carlos Moreira. The relevance of the Chilean market is also reflected in the initiatives promoted by Think Plastic Brazil. So far, the program has carried out five actions in the country, including two trade missions and participation in three trade shows, gathering 65 member companies and promoting more than a thousand business meetings. As a result, US$ 3.7 million was generated in immediate business, with expectations exceeding US$ 24 million. These figures reinforce Chile’s potential not only as a growing market but as a strategic partner for the international expansion of the Brazilian converted plastics industry.
