Think Plastic Brazil — the portfolio of solutions for the converted plastics products sector in the internationalization process, carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and INP (Brazilian Plastic Institute) — generated US$ 412,000 in immediate business deals and opened perspectives for an additional US$ 6.64 million over the next 12 months during Colombiaplast 2026, held from September 28 to October 2 in Bogotá, Colombia. In total, 28 Brazilian companies participated in the action, promoting products, technologies, and solutions for different segments of the converted plastics industry while expanding connections with Latin American buyers and commercial partners.
During the five days of the event, Brazilian companies completed 735 meetings and commercial contacts. The activity yielded 636 new contacts, the mapping of 177 medium-term business opportunities, and 28 contracts closed directly at the show with Latin American buyers.
Product diversity was another highlight of the national delegation. The Brazilian companies showcased everything from flexible and rigid packaging to plastic films and masterbatches, catering to strategic sectors such as food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, agribusiness, and pet food. Solutions focused on sustainability and the circular economy also took center stage in dialogues with potential partners.
“The results at Colombiaplast prove that there is a real and active demand for our solutions in Latin America. Far beyond immediate sales, the high volume of connections and the projections for the next 12 months show a consistent path of growth. This performance reinforces the need to maintain an active and continuous presence at strategic points to drive the internationalization of Brazilian brands,” emphasizes Carlos Moreira, Brazilian Plastic Institute Executive Director and Think Plastic Brazil CPO.
The overall evaluation of the event was positive among participants. In a survey conducted by ApexBrasil with 29 exhibitors, 20 declared themselves very satisfied and nine stated they were satisfied with the organization and structure provided.
This outcome reflected in the intention to return: 93.1% of the companies confirmed interest in participating in the next edition of the show, while 6.9% are still evaluating their international calendar.
“The feedback we received from companies is extremely gratifying. The high approval rate and the interest in returning demonstrate that the show impeccably fulfilled its role as a commercial and relationship bridge. This experience allows us to better understand the expectations of the local market and build solid, lasting alliances,” adds Moreira.
Held at the Corferias complex in Bogotá, Colombiaplast is one of the main gatherings for the plastics and rubber industries in the Andean Region. In 2024, it brought together more than 39,000 visitors, 300 exhibitors, and representatives from 18 countries.
