Brazilian delegation will have a record of 33 companies in Colombiaplast, supported by Think Plastic Brazil

International Fair

Between September 23 and 27, 33 companies associated with Think Plastic Brazil will be at Colombiaplast, one of the most important fairs in the plastics industry in Latin America. Think Plastic Brazil is a portfolio of solutions for the converted plastics product sector in the internationalization process for target markets, carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and INP (Brazilian Plastic Institute).

Colombiaplast is a fair that brings together companies that supply inputs to convert plastic and produce converted plastics, such as agricultural products and packaging. The event takes place in Bogotá every two years (even years), attracting buyers not only from Colombia but also from the northwest of South America.

Supported by ApexBrasil, Think Plastic Brazil will present Brazilian companies that produce inputs for conversion, plastics for agrobusiness, and packaging in its 9th participation in the event.

According to Carlos Moreira, Executive Director of INP and the person in charge of projects at Think Plastic Brazil, in Think Plastic Brazil’s last participation in the fair, “the exhibitors won US$925,000 in business, with an expectation of another US$31.4 million for the next 12 months.” The success of the last edition also included several talks with the press, showing the strength of the Brazilian industry in the country. Colombia is the 7th main destination for exports of Brazilian converted plastics in terms of volume (29.1%), when considering exported values, and it is also the 7th main destination (2.27%).

This year, the expectation is even higher. “We are working to internationalize the commercial borders of the converted plastics industry in Brazil, and the expansion in Latin America is strategic in this regard,” says Carlos.
