“Participating in the RosUpack Summit is a strategic opportunity to present Brazil’s vision during one of the most dynamic moments for the global packaging industry. At the event, which gathers leaders and experts shaping the future of the sector, I highlighted how new demands for sustainability, digitalization, and regulatory efficiency are transforming a market that generates over USD 1 trillion annually, in addition to highlighting Brazil’s growing role, with its competitive industrial base, consolidated clusters, and advances in sustainable solutions and the circular economy,” states Carlos Moreira.
The RosUpack Summit is a platform for obtaining up-to-date information on the dynamic scenario of packaging production, use, and disposal, as well as serving to maintain and expand commercial relationships between market experts, suppliers, and packaging solution clients. ABOUT THE LECTURE
GLOBAL PACKAGING MARKETS: NEW REALITIES AND INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Global Overview: World packaging market and new realities — sustainability, digitalization, and emerging trends.
The global packaging market generates approximately USD 1.2 trillion annually and grows between 3 and 4% per year. New realities combine sustainability and digitalization: circular economy, recycled content, design for recyclability, smart packaging with QR, NFC, and sensors, automation, and digital printing. Regulations such as the PPWR in the European Union and state laws in the United States, with an emphasis on California, raise the compliance bar, while supply chain reorganization, nearshoring, and friendshoring pressure logistics efficiency and packaging weight reduction. The most dynamic segments include flexible and rigid plastics, paper, and cardboard, as well as sustainable solutions.
Focus on Brazil: Brazil’s position, industrial clusters, and export opportunities in the global context.
Brazil ranks among the ten largest markets in the world, with a competitive production base in plastics and paper, a relevant presence in flexible packaging, and an advantage in renewable raw materials, such as green PE. Demand is driven by food, beverages, and e-commerce; the main industrial clusters are concentrated in São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul. There is a clear window for exports, focusing on Latin America, North America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, conditioned on regulatory compliance, technical and sanitary certifications, and the adoption of mono-materials, post-consumer recycled content, traceability, and process automation.
Think Plastic Brazil: Internationalization portfolio, benchmarks, and strategic action plans.
As an internationalization portfolio, Think Plastic Brazil prepares companies to compete in top-tier markets.
