The Southern Cone’s Leading Packaging Trade Fair Reinforces Brazil’s Position as a Sustainability Innovator

Think Plastic Brazil — a portfolio of solutions supporting the internationalization of the country’s converted plastics sector, carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and the INP (Brazilian Plastic Institute) — participated in the Envase International Fair in Buenos Aires, Argentina, together with 38 Brazilian companies. The event generated US$3.715 million in immediate business, with projected revenues of US$16.255 million over the next 12 months. More than one thousand business meetings were held during the four-day event.

Focusing on the packaging and industrial supplies chain, Envase is one of the most important trade fairs in the Southern Cone. In 2023, the event attracted more than 15,000 visitors and 200 exhibitors from 11 countries. In 2025, the Think Plastic Brazil collective booth featured 38 Brazilian companies, serving as a platform for business opportunities, high-level networking, and the promotion of innovative solutions to visiting buyers.

“The results achieved at Envase 2025 demonstrate the consistency of the internationalization strategy adopted by Think Plastic Brazil. With a return of over 300 times the investment, we have confirmed the fair’s effectiveness as a platform for generating qualified business opportunities and reinforcing Brazil’s presence in the Southern Cone. Argentina remains the main destination for the sector’s exports, which highlights the importance of maintaining structured, long-term initiatives in this market,” states Carlos Moreira, Brazilian Plastic Institute Executive Director and Think Plastic Brazil CPO.

Participating in the pavilion are: AGM Embalagens, Antilhas, Caixaplast, Canguru Embalagens, Copobras, Cristal Embalagens, Cromex, Delgo Embalagens, Descartáveis Mello, Embaquim, Embrast, Fibrasa, GDM, Gerresheimer, Globoplast, Hiperpack, Injetus, Inplasul, Itplast, Jaguar, Parnaplast, Pisani, Plásticos Novel, Plaszom, Polionda, Polo Films, Polymex, Poly-Vac, Pulit, Pump America, Soroplast, Teixeira Têxtil, Tekni-Plex, Videplast Embalagens, Videplast Participações, Wyda, and Zaraplast. In addition, the company Mega Goglio participated with its own booth.

ARGENTINA AS AN EXPORT MARKET

Argentina remains the leading destination for Brazilian plastic packaging exports. According to data from Comex Stat-MDIC, in 2024 alone, trade with the neighboring country totaled US$51.05 million FOB in Brazilian exports and US$16.23 million FOB in imports.

Between January and August 2025, companies in the Think Plastic Brazil portfolio exported US$86.8 million to Argentina, accounting for 29.43% of the total US$295 million exported during the period. Despite a slight variation compared to the US$88.4 million recorded in 2024, the result reinforces the relevance of the Argentine market, especially in view of declines exceeding 14% in other destinations. Argentina, therefore, not only maintained its leadership but also expanded its share from 27.5% to nearly 30% of total exports.

Think Plastic Brazil’s participation in the 2025 Envase Fair (its sixth appearance, following previous editions in 2009, 2017, 2019, 2022, and 2023) reflects a consistent strategy for strengthening trade relations in the country. The track record proves the initiative’s effectiveness: in the last five editions, the portfolio companies held over 3,331 business meetings, generating US$93.6 million in total sales — including US$7.8 million in immediate sales and projected revenues of US$85.7 million. With an investment of US$275,000, the return achieved was 339 times the amount invested, solidifying the fair’s position as one of the most important international business platforms for the sector.
