The 17th World Plastic Connection, the webinar of the third cycle of online presentations in the Business Development area of ??Think Plastic Brazil, featured lectures by Samo Gonçalves, Head of the Economic and Commercial Sector of the Embassy of Brazil in Santiago, and Mariana Soto Uzúa, General Manager at Centro de Envases y Embalajes de Chile (CENEM). The central theme of the event was Chile – Macroeconomic Scenario and Overview of the Packaging Market.

“Chile was Brazil’s sixth largest trading partner in 2021, receiving nearly $7 billion in products during the year, according to data by Comex Stat. It is also the most competitive economy in Latin America according to the World Economic Forum’s 2021 Global Competitiveness Report. It is the ideal time for making bilateral investments,” stressed Samo Gonçalves.

“Chile’s food industry is the second most important set of activities in the country. Trends indicate that the country will continue to increase the purchase of food online, opening up opportunities for the packaging industry, especially for recyclable and sustainable packaging,” explained Mariana Soto Uzúa.
