Sandra Marchi, creator of the see color method, a new addition to Color Trend 2026® for the converted plastics sector, from Think Plastic Brazil, a portfolio of solutions for the plastic-converted products sector in the process of internationalization to target markets, carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and INP (Brazilian Plastic Institute), was selected as one of the 18 winners of the BRICS Women’s Startups Contest 2025. Her project stood out among more than 1,000 entries from 21 countries, in the “Education and skills development” category.

As a finalist, Sandra presented the method in the official programs of the BRICS WBA and the BRICS Business Forum in Rio de Janeiro during the week of July 1-6, culminating in an official ceremony during the BRICS Summit. The meeting included intense interaction with investors, BRICS Business Forum panels, visits to innovation and cultural immersion hubs, and learning and networking opportunities.

“This award is important because it puts us in the global spotlight, connecting us with investors and potential partners in various countries, expanding see color’s reach beyond the Brazilian market and providing international visibility. See color offers a competitive edge and can become a valuable asset for the internationalization of Brazilian plastic products, signaling a commitment to social sustainability and inclusive design. The launch during Color Trend 2026, at the IV Summit in April 2025, marks an important advance in inclusion, innovation, and sustainability in the sector. We are certain that the see color method will advance plastic product design by making it accessible to people with visual impairments and color blindness,” says Sandra Marchi, creator of the method and award winner.

See color, a tactile language method that uses high relief to provide access to color information for people with visual impairments, was launched for the converted plastics sector at the IV World Plastic Connection Summit, an event held by Think Plastic Brazil, through Color Trend 2026®, an international color trends guide fully dedicated to the converted plastics industry.

“It’s an honor to see the see color method, presented at our 4th World Plastic Connection Summit, achieve such significant recognition in the BRICS Women’s Startups Contest. Sandra Marchi’s proposal represents the most innovative and inclusive approach in the converted plastics industry, combining technology, design, and accessibility in an exemplary way. Think Plastic Brazil is proud to have contributed to raising awareness of a solution with such potential for social impact and global transformation,” says Carlos Moreira, INP Executive Director and Think Plastic Brazil CPO.

The Award, also known as the BRICS Women’s Award, is an initiative of the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance, organized in partnership with SEBRAE and CNI, which recognizes innovative startups led by women in BRICS countries and partner nations. The startups were evaluated by an international jury based on criteria such as innovation, social impact, commercial viability, and scalability in BRICS markets.
