Think Plastic Brazil attends signing of ApexBrasil agreements with President Lula

Think Plastic Brazil, a portfolio of solutions for the plastic-converted products sector in the internationalization process for target markets, carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil and INP (Brazilian Plastics Institute), was present at the ApexBrasil agreement signing ceremony, which took place at the Palácio do Planalto, represented by Carlos Moreira, Brazilian Plastic Institute Executive Director & Think Plastic Brazil CPO.

The event was attended by the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva; the Vice President, Geraldo Alckmin; the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad; the President of ApexBrasil, Jorge Viana; the President of Sebrae, Décio Lima; and the Brazilian Plastic Institute Executive Director & Think Plastic Brazil CPO, Carlos Moreira. Also present were Márcio Sanitá Azevedo (Braskem), Núbia Batista (Braskem) and Estefane Teixeira (Teixeira Têxtil).

“Meetings like this are essential to demonstrate how the plastics conversion sector is aligned to contribute to Brazil’s global competitiveness, in addition to highlighting its strength and the excellent results achieved over these almost 22 years,” says Carlos Moreira. According to him, strategic meetings combined with the image promotion work carried out by the portfolio will bring important news to the plastics conversion sector in Brazil.

ABOUT INVESTMENTS

The event marked the signing of 20 agreements between ApexBrasil and partner institutions, focusing on the internationalization of strategic sectors and attracting foreign investment. The Brazilian Plastics Institute was one of the signatory institutions. In addition, the agreements are expected to generate R$280 billion in exports and international business by 2027, with a highlight being a new program aimed at small businesses, in partnership with SEBRAE.

Of the total to be invested in actions to promote Brazilian companies internationally and attract foreign investment, 53.6% (R$287 million) will be provided by the federal government, through ApexBrasil, and 46.4% (R$250 million) by the private sector, through the sector entities themselves.
The agreements are expected to generate more than R$281 billion in international business, with R$256.5 billion in exports and R$24.5 billion in foreign investments to be applied to strategic projects in Brazil.

Think Plastic Brazil signed its agreement with ApexBrasil on January 15, 2024, receiving a financial contribution from the Agency in the amount of R$9,170,174.52. In return, the Brazilian Plastics Institute invested the same amount, totaling R$18,340,349.04.
