Cromex will participate in K 2025, the world’s largest trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, held in Düsseldorf, Germany, from October 8 to 15. The company will be located at booth H30, Hall 8B, within the Brazilian Colors and Solutions space, organized by Think Plastic Brazil — a portfolio of solutions that supports the internationalization of the country’s converted plastics sector, carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and the INP (Brazilian Plastic Institute) — in conjunction with the ApexBrasil +Feiras Program.

Celebrating 50 years of history, Cromex will reaffirm its position as a global benchmark for quality, innovation, and sustainability, showcasing the most advanced technology and high performance in masterbatches.

In response to regulatory changes regarding the ban on PFAS substances, driven by the potential health risks associated with the accumulation of these molecules in the human body, Cromex has developed the PFAS-Free Flow Aid additive (AX 17373). This high-performance solution replaces conventional additives without compromising quality, helping manufacturers comply with regulations, especially in the food-contact plastic packaging sector. The additive is also free of heavy metals and offers the same efficiency as conventional additives, such as the AX 5540 traditionally marketed by Cromex. Furthermore, it can reduce pressure in extrusion machines by up to threefold, thereby accelerating the production process.

“Cromex offers a portfolio of solutions that promote the circular economy and reduce environmental impacts, providing options for companies that are committed to sustainability and supporting diverse approaches to strengthening ESG practices, tailored to each company’s specific needs,” highlights Carlos Moreira, Brazilian Plastic Institute Executive Director and Think Plastic Brazil CPO.

  • rC-Black – Recovered Carbon Black®: black masterbatches made with recovered carbon black sourced from end-of-life tires, supporting companies committed to reducing CO₂ emissions.
  • Recycling Additives: a range of solutions for companies aiming to increase the use of PCR in their products, such as compatibilizers that allow for the combination of different polymers, property modifiers that increase the mechanical strength of films, and antioxidants that prevent thermo-oxidation of the resin, minimizing variations in the melt flow index and physical properties.
  • PCR Masterbatches: produced with 100% post-consumer resin (PCR), this line was created to help brands reduce virgin resin consumption and incorporate higher PCR content into plastic components and packaging.
  • NIR Black Masterbatches: designed to facilitate the recycling of black packaging and components made of PE, PP, PS, and PET, as they are free of carbon black. This enables identification via FTIR (Fourier-Transform Infrared) and separation by resin type for recycling.

Its strength and representativeness are the results of the union of the Brazilian Processed Plastic and Recycling Industry (ABIPLAST), the Brazilian Association of the Chemical Industry (ABIQUIM), and the Union of Synthetic Resin Industries in the State of São Paulo (SIRESP).

As a sectoral technological body, the INP’s is to be the focal point for the entire plastics production chain in Brazil.
