With a global vision of the future oriented towards people and sustainability, Braskem is committed to contributing to the value chain for strengthening the Circular Economy. The petrochemical company’s almost 8,000 team members dedicate themselves every day to improve people’s lives through sustainable chemicals and plastics solutions. Braskem has an innovative DNA and a comprehensive portfolio of plastic resins and chemical products for diverse segments, such as food packaging, construction, manufacturing, automotive, agribusiness, healthcare and hygiene, among others. With 40 industrial units in Brazil, the United States, Mexico and Germany, and net revenue of R$52.3 billion (US$13.2 billion), Braskem exports its products to clients in more than 100 countries.
One of the initiatives that aim to strengthen the plastics transformation industry with actions that contribute to the industry’s growth and competitiveness is the PICPlast – Plano de Incentivo à Cadeia do Plástico (Plastic Chain Incentive Plan), created in 2013 by Braskem and ABIPLAST – Associação Brasileira da Indústria do Plástico (Brazilian Plastic Industry Association).
PICPlast operates on two main pillars: Competitiveness and Innovation, which relies on investments in professional qualification and business management; and the Advantages of Plastic, which works through the Movimento Plástico Transforma.
The Movimento Plástico Transforma, created in 2016, seeks to promote educational content and actions for society to reinforce concepts such as conscious consumption, creative reuse, and correct disposal and recycling of plastics, demonstrating that plastics, combined with technology, creativity, and responsibility, brings countless possibilities for a wide variety of segments.
