Brazil expands participation in Envase 2022 and presents news at the fair

Think Plastic Brazil

With a record number of participations (32 companies), the converted plastics industry in Brazil, represented by Think Plastic Brazil, will complete its 3rd consecutive edition at the Envase fair in 2022, with a record number of companies (32 in all). We spoke with Carlos Moreira, Strategy and Project Planning Manager of Think Plastic Brazil, to discuss the historic moment of the industry at the event and the plans and goals for 2022.

ENVASE: Carlos, what are the reasons for this record participation by Brazilian converted plastics companies at Envase 2022?

Carlos Moreira: The first reason is undoubtedly macroeconomic, give that Argentina is Brazil’s biggest trading partner, thanks to the proximity and affinity between the countries and, therefore, the growing interest of companies in expanding economic partnerships and bilateral business. Another point worth mentioning is Think Plastic Brazil’s continued work with Brazilian participants and international stakeholders. Our main goals are to identify business opportunities that are beneficial for both Brazil and for our Partner Countries. Think Plastic Brazil has just signed an agreement with ApexBrasil, and we have identified for the next biennium 26 potential primary and secondary Partner Countries. In South America, we will be working towards the development of bilateral trade, mainly with Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Uruguay.

ENVASE: Which Brazilian companies will be present at the event?

Carlos Moreira: The companies with a confirmed presence are Bral-Max, Brasplast, Canguro Plásticos, Copobrás, Cromex, Descartável Embalagens, Destak Big Bag, Electro Plastic, Embaquin, FFS Filmes, Fibrasa, GDM Plásticos, Geraldiscos, Gerresheimer, Globoplast, Hiperpack, Impacta, Jaguar Plásticos, Kromos, Mega Embalagens, Azul Pack, Packing Group, Parnaplast, Plaszom, Sommaplast, Seroplast, Spittag, Splack, ValGroup (which will be present with two companies of the group), Videplast, and Zaraplast. The solutions to be presented by these companies are highly diverse and include rigid and flexible items made of different materials: food packaging; pet food; barrier films; materials for chemicals and agrochemicals; caps and containers for cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and personal care products; stretch and shrink film; Big Bags; and inputs for the plastics conversion industry.

ENVASE: What innovations is Think Plastic Brazil portfolio bringing to the fair?

Carlos Moreira: Over the last two years, our team has invested in new communication with the market, presenting solutions not only for member companies, but also for similar industries around the world. The main result of these actions was the World Plastic Connection Summit, which was held online in 2021 due to social distancing requirements, but which will be taking place in a hybrid online and face-to-face format in 2022, on November 7-11, always with information in three languages: Portuguese, English, and Spanish.

With the volume of information assessed and distributed by Think Plastic Brazil, we are increasing the number of domestic and international seminars and lectures and are already organizing, alongside Envase, a series of lectures of high general interest. We will also carry out the distribution of our Yearbook 2021, with contacts from all our participating companies and international trade data from the Brazilian market. Anyone visiting the Brazilian island at Envase will also be able to see the Color Trend, a publication that identifies the color trends for the year 2022 and 2023, guiding the releases by our companies. They will also be able to get to know the winners of last year’s World Plastic Connection International Award. I can already tell you that many are part of the group of exhibitors that will be present with us at the event.

ENVASE: Any final messages for our readers?

Carlos Moreira: I would like to thank everyone for the support we always received in Argentina during the last two participations at ENVASE and invite everyone to visit Brazilian companies at this year’s event, as well as to say that participation in the World Plastic Connection Summit is open and free to all. Any interested parties can sign up by clicking here, a link that also entitles them to download our Yearbook 2021. At this same website, we receive the forms from international buyers who wish to be evaluated for invitations to events in Brazil, an excellent opportunity for those looking for good deals in our country. See you at Envase 2022!
