Think Plastic Brazil

After carrying out a webinar at Think Plastic Together, IHS Markit submitted a statement detailing the partnership established between the parties to the participants in the Brazilian Processed Plastic Export and Internationalization Program. Check out the full text below:

Dear participants of Think Plastic Brazil, executives, and Latin American leaders in plastics,
On July 29, 2020, Think Plastic Brazil and IHS Markit started their partnership with the aim of expanding the participation of Brazilian companies in the Global Plastics Summit. To mark this new strategic alliance, IHS Markit held a webinar at Think Plastic Together with a focus on:
1) Current perspectives and overview of the polyolefins market in Brazil
2) The wide range of price-determining factors for global polyolefin supply / demand
3) Changes in consumer buying habits due to COVID-19
The event was highly successful, and we believe that has symbolic value, proving the great influence that Latin America and Brazil maintain in the global plastics economy, in both the pre- and post-COVID periods. We would like to thank everyone who logged in to participate.
We would like to extend our official invitation to your companies for participating alongside IHS Markit and the Plastics Industry Association, with the support of Think Plastic Brazil and the Brazil-Texas Chamber of Commerce at the Global Plastic Summit 2020 (GPS ONLINE), on October 21-23, 2020.
This year, at GPS 2020 Online, we will be addressing the evolving role of plastics in global society.

An industry in transition: Factors shaping the future of plastics
Moving on to a new decade, the historical assumptions regarding growth of plastic and its role in society are changing, as the global industry expands and adapts to the COVID-19 pandemic. The move towards a circular economy and sustainability is one of the main priorities of organizations in the plastics industry. Increased geopolitical awareness, an emphasis on corporate social responsibility and attention to environmental concerns have created significant challenges and opportunities for plastics worldwide. How will the industry react and be able to adapt to the forces that are reshaping the role of plastics in society?
In the 8th edition of the Global Plastics Summit Online, organized by IHS Markit and the Plastics Industry Association, participants will have access to the main companies and to how they have developed strategies and innovations to address issues relating to plastic waste and build a more sustainable future. Because of the uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, this event will be held as an innovative virtual program, with pre-recorded lectures, live panel sessions, and an online session for questions and answers.

GPS Online will feature:
NEW! Flexible and rigid bands that combine the conference of the Flexible Film & Bag Division (FFBD) and the Rigid Plastic Packaging Group (RPPG) of the Plastic Industry Association, bringing a series of high-level strategic discussions that focus on the latest innovations in flexible and rigid packaging
