Online Buyer Project is expected to generate more than U$D9 million in business

Think Plastic Brazil

With 62 participating companies and buyers/representatives from 14 countries, the online Buyer Project (focused on general packaging & agribusiness plastics), recorded US$ 585,000 in business with expectations of a further US$ 8.841 million over the next 12 months, moving US$ 9.426 million internationally within the processed plastics sector.
“The online buyer project held in March was a surprise for the participants, most of whom had never participated in virtual business rounds. The dynamic was very interesting and the use of several simultaneous means of communication – e-mail, WhatsApp, and phone calls – allowed the agendas to be met in a calm and punctual manner; the dynamic was agile and precise. End users and distributors were present, but because the event was virtual, it was also possible to contemplate profiles that usually don’t come to face-to-face buying projects, which is the one of representatives (much sought after by some Brazilian companies and more difficult to identify)”, says Cristina Sacramento, Think Plastic Brazil’s Market Development Specialist for Packaging and Agribusiness.
“The online buyer project has exceeded expectations in the midst of the pandemic. This is also a result of the resilience of the supported companies and the importers that adapted to the new reality, which led to this great result that motivates us to idealize, plan, and execute even bigger projects that will not only attend the magnitude of our sector in Brazil, but will place us as global protagonists through innovative actions”, says Carlos Moreira, responsible for Planning and Strategy of Think Plastic Brazil.
