Think Plastic Brazil attends Circlepack 2024 in Chile

International Fair

Think Plastic Brazil, a portfolio of solutions that support the converted plastic products sector in the internationalization process for target markets carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and INP (Brazilian Plastic Institute), will support the participation of six Brazilian companies in the 3rd Chile International Packaging Trade Show, one of the main packaging events in the South American country, which takes place between April 16 and 18, at Espaço Riesco, in Santiago.

According to Abiplast’s “Profile of Conversion and Recycling Industries in Brazil 2022”, the country exported US$ 1.4 billion in converted plastics that year alone, equivalent to 317 thousand tons of material. Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay are among the main countries that import converted plastic from Brazil, totaling around 160 thousand tons in 2022.

“Circlepack is an excellent space to show the South American market the strength, quality and sustainability of packaging from Brazilian industries”, highlights Carlos Moreira, Brazilian Plastic Institute Executive Director and Think Plastic Brazil CPO. “The event will certainly open up important business and investment opportunities for those present, in addition to expanding everyone’s network of contacts, which is always very positive.”

Six companies producing flexible packaging will be present: Canguru Embalagens, Grupo Copobras, GDM Plásticos, Parnaplast, Plaszom and Videplast will have stands at the trade show, which takes place every two years and in 2022 received more than 4 thousand visitors.

Canguru Embalagens will offer its line made up of special films, structures suitable for different types of application in monolayer, laminated or co-extruded with special resins.

The Grupo Copobras will display a wide range of solutions in flexible packaging, presenting the most diverse sustainable technologies that serve different markets, including its expertise in pet food.

GDM Plásticos will invest in macroperforated stretch film, a technology that provides greater ventilation to packaged products, to win over visitors.

Parnaplast brings In-Cycle Film, which, in addition to being 100% recyclable, offers excellent optics, with shine and transparency.

At Videplast, thermoformed packaging is the highlight, being films with a flexible or semi-rigid lid and bottom developed to present high mechanical resistance, high sealing strength and uniformity.

About INP

Founded in 1989, the Brazilian Plastic Institute – INP emerged amid the globalization process and the need to make the plastics market more internationally competitive. Its strength and representation are due to the union of the Brazilian Association of the Plastic Industry (ABIPLAST), the Brazilian Association of the Chemical Industry (ABIQUIM) and the Union of Synthetic Resin Industries in the State of São Paulo (SIRESP).

The objective of INP, as a sectoral technological entity, is to be the backbone of the entire plastic production chain in Brazil. To this end, the entity maintains an extensive workforce qualification program, promotes access to the most modern technologies, especially for small and medium-sized companies, and develops Technical Standards for the manufacture of better quality products.
