Embaquim, a leading company in the Brazilian flexible packaging market, has been bringing Bag-in-Box system technology to different solutions across various industrial sectors. As a member of Think Plastic Brazil — the portfolio of solutions for the converted plastics products sector in the internationalization process for target markets, carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and the INP (Brazilian Plastic Institute) — Embaquim stands out with its Bag on Farm. The solution consists of sterile, collapsible, and 100% recyclable packaging developed to enable the production of biological inputs directly on the farm. Another highlight is the Endurit Bag in Box, a solution adapted for the flooring industry developed for Polipiso, which reduces environmental impact and optimizes logistics by replacing rigid jugs, thereby decreasing delivery frequency.
Innovation in the Field and Logistics
The Bag on Farm is aimed at agribusiness, transforming the way inputs are fermented, stored, transported, and used. The system allows for secure filling, aeration, sampling, and homogenization, bringing industrial-grade technology to the field with increased operational efficiency. In addition, the solution reduces logistical complexity, facilitates responsible disposal, and supports sustainable agricultural practices. With the Endurit, logistical efficiency has been proven: deliveries that used to occur eight times a month were reduced to just one. The change also positively impacted ergonomics, reducing the physical effort of employees during unloading and transport to construction sites. At the end of the cycle, the volume of waste generated dropped drastically from 16.2 m³ to just 0.77 m³, representing a 95% reduction on a construction site with 1,000 sets.
Recognition and Awards
Embaquim has recently won four awards for these innovations. “The solution was created to solve real operational challenges: eliminating contamination, reducing losses, optimizing logistics, and ensuring greater safety at all stages. The result is more daily efficiency, with concrete gains for growers and companies. This represents Embaquim’s ability to turn challenges into practical solutions, generating real value for the field, for business, and for the future,” highlights Carlos Moreira, Brazilian Plastic Institute Executive Director & Think Plastic Brazil CPO. For the company, the awards recognize its work focused on sustainable packaging and next-generation agribusiness, showcasing its commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence in developing solutions. “This packaging is not just for transport. The key differentiator is the built-in aeration system within a sterile bag. With this mechanism, the bag becomes a bioreactor, where growers can formulate and manufacture their product without the need for rigid plastic or stainless steel reactors. Furthermore, it eliminates the need for washing and sterilization: the product is manufactured directly in the bag-in-box, transported, dispensed, and disposed of at the end of the process,” explains Eduardo Casali, Commercial Manager at Embaquim. Embaquim’s success reinforces the competitiveness of Brazilian design on the global stage. As part of the Think Plastic Brazil portfolio, the company continues to expand its frontiers, bringing award-winning innovation and sustainable solutions to strategic markets, consolidating Brazil’s image as a hub of excellence in packaging technology.
